Continue reading “Planning The Perfect Picnic”Hello everyone! Today I’m going to be sharing my top tips on shopping sustainably with you all! I know that during lockdown it hasn’t been the easiest to shop sustainably or second-hand as money is tight on some ends and second hand just doesn’t feel sanitary. I’m here to share some tips that I use to ground myself when it comes to shopping sustainably.
Continue reading “Top Tips For Shopping Sustainably”Hello everyone! Today’s blog post is actually a collab with Kitty Jade, also known as Erin! She has an amazing blog and I’ve written a blog post for her environmental series she’s created!
These are all recommendations, so please listen to your doctor/pharmacist over me. If you require certain products for your skin based on prescriptions then use that assessment. I am a teen blogger, not a doctor! Don’t take my advice before a professionals!
Continue reading “5 Easy Sustainable Swaps To Make In Your Skincare Routine | Collaboration With Kitty Jade”Hello everyone! Happy Monday, I hope you all had a great weekend. Today I’m going to be sharing five of my favourite bits and bobs from June. I’ve tried to get an even mix on categories (such as fashion, lifestyle, sewing etc) so there should be something in there for everyone!
Hello everyone! Welcome to the first Sunday blog post, I hope you’re excited that there will be three blog posts a week instead of two. Today I wanted to hop on a trend that I have really been loving at the moment and that is… The vogue challenge!!!
Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well, I know that lockdown restrictions are slowly getting lifted here in the U.K so I’m sure you’re enjoying some more freedom! Today I want to share some changes I am making…
Hello everyone! So, I know it has been a turbulent week for so many as the fight against police brutality and racism continues. Whilst I’m going to start posting my normal content again as it now feels right to do so, I still want to amplify Black voices and support the Black Lives Matter movement in every possible way. So today’s blog post is sharing some Black-owned sustainable fashion brands that will make your heart swoon!
Selva Negra is a Latina (I originally labelled them as a Black owned business to which I apologise and I’ve since corrected it) female-owned business that promotes ethical and sustainable practices whilst still retaining style. Unlike some sustainable and ethical brands, they don’t shy away from colour and love pattern! Whilst their sizing options are limited they are planning to expand them in the future and create more diverse sizing options.
House Of Aama is known for its statement pieces and all the luxury it brings at prices that are more affordable than some other luxury brands. They’re not afraid of patterns or colour. Something refreshing to see among sustainable brands. House of Aama makes everything made to order to avoid waste which I think is brilliant! It is also deeply rooted in it’s African heritage, bringing something different to the often whitewashed world of sustainable and ethical fashion.
ETC is a brand obsessed with colour, using natural dying processes and organic cotton! They even have a ‘Revive’ collection where they use deadstock and old textiles to create amazing garments. Whilst this means that they might not be sustainable fabrics it doesn’t matter because they are recycled! ETC creates colourful garments that truly make you smile.
SOEN is a brand that uses its African roots to create traditional pieces with a twist. The use of traditional patterns and colours makes SOEN a unique slow fashion brand. Everything is hand made and they use traditional practices that create garmets that really connects to its roots. The making process of the garment is all done in Africa by people who have lots of experience. Though they are a little more expensive, their prices are totally worth it with the type of craftmanship you are getting!
Known for it’s hip, trendy garments Wasi definitely doesn’t disappoint. With prices starting in the high 30’s (in terms of garments) their prices are really affordable. Everything is handmade and made to order meaning you really are getting the best quality possible, something fast fashion cannot replicate.
So, that’s all for my quick rundown on some sustainable Black-owned fashion brands. I want to just point out that I know a lot of these are very expensive but that is the truth behind slow fashion. You’re getting what you pay for and in my personal opinion I think the prices are justified. If you’re looking for similar fast fashion pricing you won’t find it. However, the pricing of Wasi is very similar to Urban Outfitters so just keep that in mind. A lot goes into making clothes and slow fashion provides relief that someone is getting paid well for the clothes they’re being made to make.

Hello everyone! Todays post is a little different because I actually got some of my friends from my sewing gc to help with this post! I asked them all for a sewing tip (or two) to put up on the blog and they were all so thoughtful and kind! So, I hope you enjoy some sewing tips today hehe.
Penny is someone I met through my sewing group chat and all I can say is WOW!! She’s a fab sewer and she also crotches really really well haha.
“I think I would say mainly practice your stitching on a scrap piece of paper beforehand but also don’t be afraid to just go for it!”
Thank you Penny!! ❤
Ella is a sustainable blogger who knows her stuff! She’s so kind and she’s a queen of thrifting and thrift flipping! She says no to fast fashion and she’s constantly inspiring!
“Always cut off less fabric thank you think when cropping/hemming clothes because once you have cut it off you can’t go back!!”
Thank you Ella – I know I’ve been guilty of this on numerous occasions! ❤
I met Sharon nearly a month ago on instagram and she initially added me to the sewing group chat! She’s such a talented seamstress, full of personality and just the loveliest person ever!
“My sewing tip is to always try and finish off raw edges in some way (zig zag stitch or other) even if you can’t see them and they’re on the inside of the garment. This adds longevity to the item, so that it is more likely to stay in your closet as something you can wear time and time. It helps the item look more professional too.”
Thank you Sharon – you’re a star ❤
Lottie and I met on the sewing group chat and we related over Top Model books and fabrics! She’s so lovely and such an interesting person!
“When sewing darts, don’t reverse stitch over the points of the dart but leave the threads long so you can tie them in a knot or two to secure it, then trim the excess thread. This leaves a cleaner and sharper point.”
Thank you Lottie! This is super helpful as I know my darts can be a little messy sometimes! ❤
I found Caitlín through a youtube video of hers that went viral! (she’s fab you definitely should sub) and I messaged her not expecting a response but I got one! She’s the loveliest person and so down to earth
“Maybe if people are just starting (sewing) then I would suggest filming yourself taking apart an item of clothing and put it back together (looking at how you filmed taking it apart and reverse it) to understand garment construction better”
This is such an awesome tip that I wouldn’t have come up with in a million years! Thank you lovely so much!! ❤
So that is all of the sewing tips for today! I hope you enjoyed reading these tips and meeting some of my sewing friends. Definitely make sure to go and check them out and follow them all – they’re super lovely !!

Hey everyone! So today’s blog post is a little different because I asked you guys on my instagram story to give me some general scenarios eg. Coachella that I could style an outfit for! This blog post is totally inspired by Freddys youtube video called the 2 minute wardrobe challenge or something along the lines of that, you should definitely watch it!
This was such a cute idea! So I opted for one of my fave dresses, it’s almost babydoll style with a black collar and lots of holographic sparkles. In addition to this I wore my Dune little black heels and I used my favourite Fiorella black bag!
For this, I didn’t want to have something too much but I remembered about this Ted Baker dress I’ve had for a few years now. I paired the dress with some nude pointed kitten heels because I didn’t want the heels to take away from the dress.
I assumed I was attending someone elses wedding not my own as I don’t have anything that could constitute as a wedding dress haha. So, for this I opted for another of my Ted Baker dresses, its longer than the other one and slightly tight across the chest (clearly things have changed since I was 11) and I paired this with the same nude kitten heels because I wanted the dress to be the main focus.
Whilst this was a really fun scenario it also made me realise how unprepared I would be for a festival! I really made this up by using a new neon green bikini top and bottoms along with this scarf that I used as a leopard wrap skirt. I didn’t match any shoes with these but I’m guessing you could just go for some sandals or flip flops?
I loved this one because it makes me think of my plans for summer with my friends. However, yet again I realised I need to get my summer clothes out because I have no tops that are really ‘suitable’ for a picnic in my winter wardrobe! For this I used a knitted top and a fake leather skirt to create a pink, spring vibe along with my jewelled heel shoes from Dune.
And there you have it! My take on the fashion scenario challenge!! I really hope you enjoyed this and don’t forget to comment and like it!!

Hello lovelies! So today I actually wanted to address something that’s been on my mind with this blog.
Since beginning it I’ve felt like I’ve been putting myself in a box of what my content can be because of my fashion design and fashion niche. However, in the past few weeks I’ve realised that I can make this blog fun and full of fashion design challenges aswell as fashion challenges!
I know in my heart that I want my blog to be a collective space representative of me and my personality and at the moment I feel like it’s really lacking that! I’ve always had this idea that being a fashion design vlog means I can’t have fun and it’s got to always be about what I’m sewing. Now, I realise this can be a place for more than just what is currently under a needle.
So, over the next few weeks, expect more interesting and exciting fashion design content, expect more professional blog posts. I want this blog to have as much effort as my youtube and instagram have put into them. I hope you’re safe and I hope you are looking forward to the positive change taking place on the blog.
