Hello friends! Today I bring news of my first project; yes that’s right! I’ve finally started a project and I’m ready to start talking about it.
For my first project, I wanted to make something pretty basic and simple that allowed me to get a grip on my sewing skills. So, drumroll please, I am making a Burda skirt!

My Mum actually bought me this pattern piece a year ago and I’ve been really hesitant about starting it and using it. I think it’s all been part of the imposter syndrome fear I’ve been feeling. I finally decided to stop procrastinating and just do it!
For fabric, I’m using this thin denim with a heart pattern on it. I love this pattern, it’s basic, cute and is a pretty easy fabric to work with. I know it’s denim, but it’s thin enough that is is more similar to poly-cotton so working with the fabric should be pretty easy. In case it does get a little thicker than intented, a while ago I bought some thicker denim needles so we’re all prepped up on that.

I’ve already looked at the pattern pieces and they all look fairly basic; interfacing, skirt facings, etc. I’m praying that it doesn’t take me too long to complete but I’ll be documenting all of my journey along the way.
Logging off, Millie xxx
I’m curious what’s it going to look like 😊 and I’m impressed you know how to sew! I would never 😂 Keep going ❤️
